Friday night we had our family get together and celebrated our daughter-in-law's birthday. Michelle surprised us all. She stood and spoke this declaration in front of everyone:

"Tonight in front of our family and friends, I want to tell you that I commit to you. I commit to put all of me into our marriage. I commit to walk forward with you from this day. Thank you for the work that you have done in the past 12 weeks and for continuing to do the work every single day. I didn't know that it was possible to feel this safe with a man. I didn't know that my heart could be full of love for someone who — five months ago — I didn't know if I was going to stay married to. The way that you have taken accountability for your actions, the humility that you have shown and the way that you love me — it is so very healing to every part of me. I am super excited for the next 50 years."

I am currently on a plane with my bride headed to celebrate our 26th anniversary. Not so long ago I came so close — multiple times — to closing the door to the beautiful opportunities we are now stepping into.

Grant, thank you for creating this path. Never underestimate the impact you and your team have. The world is a better place because of the intentions and behaviors that you have stepped into and continue to do so.

BEFORE THE PROGRAMME To be completely honest, my relationship with Kirsty was in crisis. We had become emotionally disconnected, intimacy had largely disappeared, communication was poor and despite loving each other, it felt like we were slowly drifting further and further apart. I had tried everything — books, podcasts, counselling, conversations, date nights, giving space, pushing harder, backing off. Nothing seemed to create any lasting change. I had reached the point where divorce felt like the most likely outcome. Not because I wanted that, but because I genuinely couldn't see another path forward.

WHAT CHANGED The difference is night and day. The biggest thing I can say is that I genuinely feel like I have my best friend back. The emotional connection has returned. We enjoy spending time together again. Conversations feel easier and more natural. Before the programme, I was honestly dreading the thought of spending the next twenty or thirty years stuck in a relationship that felt broken. Today I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with Kirsty. That is a huge shift.

WHAT MADE IT DIFFERENT What made you different was that you didn't focus on changing my wife. You focused on changing me. That wasn't always comfortable because it meant taking responsibility for things I hadn't previously recognised in myself. As a businessman, my instinct is always to solve problems. What I learned is that many of the things I was doing to try and improve the relationship were actually creating more pressure and more distance. You challenged my thinking, gave me practical tools and helped me see patterns I simply couldn't see myself. Most importantly, you gave me hope when I had very little left.

"The biggest lesson I learned is that you cannot change another person. You can only change yourself. Ironically, it was only when I stopped trying to change Kirsty and started focusing on changing myself that the relationship began to transform. Grant didn't just improve my marriage. He helped save it. For that, both Kirsty and I will always be grateful."
